Acquafront Infrastructure (AIPL) is an IIT Kanpur-incubated company that designs and manufactures modular floating infrastructure. Its products are pre-fabricated, road-transportable modules assembled on site, so projects don't need dry-dock capacity or water-only delivery. This suits reservoirs, rivers, mine pits and other water bodies that conventional shipyard-built barges can't easily reach.
The company's core is the Steel Integrated Floating Jetty (SIFJ) system and glass-fibre-reinforced-concrete (GFRC) floatable beams. Together they support floating pump stations for drinking water and industrial intake, modular cargo barges, floating solar platforms, construction and dredging pontoons, and tourism and event platforms. Its reference deployments include India's first floating CNG station at Namo Ghat, Varanasi, for GAIL/MECON, and a floating pump station for Oil India. Industrial and PSU customers include NPCIL and PHED state water departments.
Acquafront is extending the platform into higher-value segments. These include a methanol bunkering barge for green maritime fuelling and two defence products still at NC-NC trial stage, a hydraulically expandable mobile command centre and a counter-drone shelter. As India expands waterways, ports and floating solar, the company is positioned as a domestic, certified alternative to imported floating systems.
